Quantum Light Breath

I was writing in an earlier post about the problem of dealing with difficult emotions such as anger, which can cause problems in our everyday lives and can also act as an obstacle to spiritual growth. It's hard to make a connection with that wonderful source of energy which I've described in this blog when you're busy raging inside because someone hit you on the shin with a supermarket trolley or you had to listen to fifteen minutes of muzak when you phoned up the bank - even harder perhaps if you still feel the hurt of a bereavement or a broken romance. Nick Roach argues that it is only such emotions which prevent us from becoming enlightened - but how can we stop them getting in the way?

In that earlier post, I described Nick Roach's technique for dissolving emotions and in the future I'd like to take a look at other approaches, but just for now I'm going to introduce you to a technique which I've recently been finding very effective myself. Quantum Light Breath is a breathing technique which was developed by Jeru Kabbal in the early nineties and I'd like to thank Secret Of Life reader Annie for bringing it to my attention. It involves listening to just over an hour of a guided meditation recording which takes you through the breathing process in combination with emotive words and music which help to release stored emotions. You can read a brief description of the technique  here (follow the link top right to 'Quantum Light Breath'). See here for some in depth background by Jeru himself.

My experience with QLB has been quite remarkable and I'll post some more about it shortly, but for now you might like to try it yourself. I managed to try it on free download but I checked the URL just now and the file appears to have vanished, as such files frequently do. But if you do a google, you might find a free download somewhere else. And in any case, you can buy it on CD here (US) or here (Europe).

There are a number of versions of Quantum Light Breath. The one I've been using is the original one by Jeru. If you try it, do let me know what you think.

(Note: A reader has posted some URLs for free downloads - see the comments.)

(Further note (December 07): A friend has recently raised the issue of hyperventilation in regard to QLB. You can read the Wikipedia entry on hyperventilation here. A fellow blogger, Pamm at My Secret Spiritual Dance, gives her perspective about hyperventilation in relation to similar breathing techniques here. My own experience is that we have used the QLB at our Deeksha group on several occasions. The feedback has always been positive and no one has reported any ill effects. In the recording, Jeru invites you to breath as quickly or slowly as you feel comfortable with. I have always kept to a fairly modest pace and have found the QLB to be a beneficial experience. I've posted more about my experience with the QLB here.)

Movement

After weeks of being stuck, we're finally moving house - hooray! - and will be without internet access at home for several weeks. So I've loads of stuff to blog about but no chance to do it just now. Coming up soon, though, I'll be writing about a remarkable breathing technique which is brilliant for releasing suppressed emotions; my latest musings on the spiritual lessons of moving house; my much heralded further thoughts on The Secret and The Law of Attraction; plus all about my latest taste of what it might feel like to be enlightened. At least some of all that should be coming to you from a public library computer somewhere on the planet in the next few weeks. Keep watching this space...

World Oneness Day - Global Peace Meditation

In the comments on an earlier post, we were discussing various attempts to monitor the positive effects which might be produced by mass meditation and prayer. People wanted to know if anyone had really proved that such things made a difference. In the course of this discussion, I mentioned the Global Consciousness Project at Princeton University, the purpose of which is to measure the effects of consciousness on physical systems. You can see the Wikipedia entry for the Global Consciousness Project here.

In another recent post, I wrote about Deeksha, a transfer of energy which is claimed to initiate an evolution in human consciousness. Deeksha, or the Oneness Blessing as it is now becoming known, has been brought into the world by Bhagavan and Amma, founders of the Oneness Movement, which is based at the Golden City in southern India. Their aim is to bring into being a new golden age for mankind.

Now, in an interesting piece of synchronicity, the Global Consciousness Project and the Oneness Movement are coming together for an exciting event called World Oneness Day, a Global Peace Meditation, on Sunday 20th May. On that day, many thousands of people worldwide will be coming together to meditate and pray on the theme of global peace and harmony with nature. There will be twelve main events, the largest of which, with an estimated attendance of 50,000, will be led by Bhagavan and Amma at the Oneness Temple in Golden City. The other main events will be at Mount Fuji, Japan; Sydney, Australia; Auroville, India; Lucknow, India; Tel Aviv, Israel; Budapest, Hungary; Damanhur Federation, Italy; Duluth, MN, USA; Hawaii, USA; Samoa; and online. The effects of this global meditation are to be monitored by the Global Consciousness Project and the results will be made public. Many of these events will also involve the giving of Deeksha. For details of all the above events, including contact information, plus some information on the measurements which are to be taken, please see here. For some other good articles about the events and the associated experiments, see here and here.

In addition to the above events, many smaller gatherings will also take place worldwide. It's not too late to organize your own! The best way to find the events is probably to do a google, but if anyone knows of an event they would like to publicize here, please leave the details in a comment on this post. Here are a few that I've found: California, USA; Virginia, USA; Bristol, England - contact Paul for details; Leeds, England - contact Heidi or Ed for details. My wife Chris and I, together with one or two Secret of Life readers, will be at the Leeds event all being well, so perhaps we will see you there?

Do have a read about Deeksha (Oneness Blessing) before you attend one of the events: follow the links above or take a look at the article on Deeksha in the latest edition of Kindred Spirit Magazine. There are also some interesting articles and DVDs on Deeksha available at Path To Oneness. If you can't make it to one of the events but would like to participate online, you can sign up here.
