In a recent post, I returned to my favorite quote from Einstein:
"A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness..."
Here's an interesting animation on the same theme which I found at Mike's blog: Enlightenment, Sex, and Sweeet Guitar. Let me know what you think!

Cute! Consciousness doesn't have to play in duality or polarity. Consciousness can play Unity, too. Smiling.

hi simon. very interesting video. nicely done. you know its kinda an irony. we are such a small unit in this world, yet we want the world. no matter how much we have. its never enough!

Thanks for your comments, Sue Ann and Vinny. I'm glad you liked the video.
Vinny - I wonder: what is the source of this yearning? It has allowed mankind to achieve wonderful things, this always wanting more. Yet it never brings us lasting happiness, and that appears to be what we really want. I suspect that each of us has a memory of that happiness, and it is that memory which keeps us yearning to return. I suspect that the memory is one of Unity, from which we sprang and to which we will some day return, as the video illustrates. This is the peace, the completion we seek - and however much we achieve in this world, it can never compare with this ultimate goal, this memory.
And yes, Sue Ann, of course you are right: this Unity must be play, it must be fun - amongst all the other infinite number of things it must be. Why else should we miss it so very much?

That is so true we are peace most when we are one with the world around us.

Welcome Rachel! Yes, and this can be out in the garden - or amongst the aisles of a supermarket. Wherever there is life...

What a great illustration. The illusion of seperateness is the root of all of our troubles, isn't it? Do you think the general consciousness will move beyond this illusion before it is too late for us all?

Hi Karen - Great to hear from you. I just read your comment and went "Woooh!" because it's so pertinent to the post I'm writing at the moment: "Earth Doomed!..." I can't quite decide how long to make it and how much detail to go into at the moment, but it should be up and running in a day or two... But yes, I think this illusion is at the center of our problems. Living on the earth will be troublesome enough even with a shift in consciousness, but then that's kind of the point in us being here. At least if we're all working for the general good instead of focusing mainly on our own individual imagined interests, we will be in with a chance.
