In the spirit of the previous post, An End To All Abuse, here's a link to a petition which pledges solidarity with the people of Burma in their stand against oppression. Please consider signing it here. The organizers are hoping to gather a million signatures worldwide. When I signed earlier today, they had over 500,000...
Petitions have their place. People who initiate them often have good intentions. Wonder what Gandhi or Mother Teresa or Martin Luther King would've thought?

THANK YOU for posting this, Simon. I had already received a copy of the petition myself, through Avaaz - it's wonderful to know that people are doing what they can to bring light to this horrible oppressive situation.
Peace out and Peace In.

Nice to hear from you, Liara and Grace.
Liara - Mother Theresa famously said that she wouldn't march *against* war but would march *for* peace. So maybe I should have phrased this differently, as "a stand for freedom" instead of "a stand against oppression"!
This is all about the law of attraction, of course. You bring into being more of whatever you focus upon, so it doesn't do to dwell too much upon the world's ills. But even so, as you suggest, there is a time for action - and in the case of Burma, this is surely it. If we calmly support the China Olympics as if there's nothing 'wrong', we will be sleep-walking. The Chinese care about the Olympics, so this is an excellent time to bring pressure to bear. And all those Buddhists monks can't be wrong...
Grace - Thanks for your encouragement!
