Here's a lovely, empowering quotation I found on Angelbaby's site:
"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through me into action because there is only one of me in all time. This expression is unique and if you block it, it will never exist in any other medium. The world will not have it. It is not my business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is my business to keep it mine clearly and directly and to keep the channel open."
Martha Graham
US choreographer and dancer (1894-1991)
I wish you all a very happy New Year! I shall be keeping this quotation close to my heart. Here's to all of us being ourselves, fearlessly and joyfully, in 2009...
These may also be of interest:
What a beautiful image! This energy flows constantly through each of us and joins us in ways that we are unable to explain. The wonderful thing is, we have no reason to do so. As Martha says, it is up to each of us to "keep the channel open."

This is a very pertinent quote for me, Liara, because for too long I've been allowing self-doubt to get in the way. It's very easy to ask "Is what I'm doing good enough?" or "Should I be doing something else?" Such questions only get in the way. They close that channel down. If we find something we truly enjoy doing, something that gets us 'in the zone', truly in the moment, than we just have to trust we are where we should be, doing what is 'right' for us to do.

Hello Simon,
I also wrote about this subject in my last post. It seems some themes want expression on the blogosphere and we bloggers are connected to this mystery that writes these blogs that we host! When we really think of it, "there is only one of me in all time" the perfection of this life is astounding.
I too will keep this quote in my heart for 2009.
May you come to know your highest expression of yourself!

Many thanks for calling and for your good wishes, Miruh! And now you have got me thinking about it, 'there is only one of me in all time' has more than one meaning, doesn't it? We are each a unique expression of the Divine - so there is only one of us in that sense, which I think is the one that Martha Graham intended. But I believe it is also true that we are all One. So once again, there is only One of us in all time. Wow...
